Washington is the 11th fastest growing state in the country with huge corporations like Microsoft, expanding agricultural businesses, and world-class colleges drawing more people to this beautiful state each year. And, the Bureau of Labor Statistics records 2,040 massage therapists working in the state last year, a 3.3% growth over the previous year. Massage therapy training in Washington is a gateway to a very successful career in bodywork.


Continuing Education Requirements/Licensure Renewal

For a state with slightly more complex licensing program, it’s not a surprise that the renewal process is slightly more involved as well. Every two years, the state requires all therapists complete 24 hours of continuing education. No more than 12 hours can be completed online and there must be a minimum of 8 hours of hands-on work. Finally, each therapist seeking a renewal must complete four hours of ethics or Washington state law coursework.
