Military Psychology Careers in Georgia - GA

Veterans who served in U.S. Armed Forces following September 11, 2001 may be eligible for the new Montgomery GI Bill. This bill covers multiple costs, including college tuition and fees, $1,000 per year for college books and supplies, and a monthly housing stipend.

Eligible personnel interested in becoming a civilian or military psychologist in Georgia will have served 90 days in active duty or more after September 11, 2001. They must also meet one of these criteria:

  • Continue on active duty.
  • Discharged or released from the Armed Forces due to one of the following three conditions: Hardship, Condition Interfered with Duty, or Existed Prior to Service.
  • Released from the Armed Forces with an honorable discharge.
  • Released with honorable service recognition to serve in the reserves.
  • Transferred to Fleet Reserve or Fleet Marine Corps Reserve after a release with honorable service recognition, or put on either the retired list or temporary disability retired list.

Armed Forces personnel who were in the Armed Forces for 30 days or more on September 12, 2001 or later may also be able to take advantage of the new GI Bill to become a military psychologist in Georgia, as long as they were discharged because of a service-related disability.
