Minnesota is one of the healthiest states in the country, and though the state’s beautiful natural scenery and wealth of outdoor opportunities certainly play a part in that, it’s also a state with an excellent healthcare system, and it takes great pains to keep it that way.
With a population of about 5.5 million and growing, quality healthcare is in demand in Minnesota, and with that demand comes the need for trained managers and administrators to run the hospitals, manage the staff, and ensure the patients get the best care available by making the facilities run the best they can.
Minnesota has every sort, size, and type of care facility possible. It’s got massive rural areas, tourism centers, and urban sprawl containing a sizeable chunk of the state’s population. Throughout all this you’ll find excellent hospitals, medical research centers, specialized care facilities, private clinics, and physician’s offices. All these places need administrative staff, which is perhaps the driving factor behind the booming job prospects in this profession.
When you start looking through healthcare administration jobs in Minnesota, you’re likely to be a bit overwhelmed by all the options. Should you apply to a private clinic, and coordinate a team of cancer specialists as they find, diagnose, and remove cancerous tumors? Should you join the small staff of a tiny, intimate clinic where you can get to know your patients on a first name basis in a laid back and relaxed atmosphere? Or should you sign on somewhere big like United Hospital, and plan the long-term strategic goals of the hospital while balancing books and coordinating advertising and marketing agencies?
