The place to start your career as a midwife is through formal training online or at a midwifery school in Minnesota. If you are really interested in this career field, then you are probably wondering what you need to do to get started. Well, first and foremost, you need to choose a degree program. In order to find yourself employed as a midwife, you will need a master's degree, usually in nursing. The master degree option generally takes about 2 years to complete, but first you will need to complete your undergraduate studies. Midwifery schools in Minnesota require that students have at least a bachelor's degree and current nursing registration before proceeding with master degree courses in midwifery.
One of the things that Minnesota students can look forward to with this program is the ability to complete courses online. In the past, this wasn't really an option, which made it difficult for working students to pursue their degrees, but online education has changed all of that. If you have a strict work schedule, children to care for, or just prefer to go to school from home, then taking your midwifery courses online may be an option for you.
