As a student in Mississippi, you will discover the true meaning of hospitality of the “old South”. Mississippi is steeped in rich American history and Southern charm. The state offers much in the way of lifestyle and culture-- complete with theater, symphonies, concerts and museums. Jackson and Hattiesburg are two areas that offer several educational choices, along with vibrant nightlife and outdoor recreation for the college student.
How to become a Veterinary Technician in Mississippi
- Veterinarian Technician (VT) educational programs are available at various institutions. As you seek to enroll in one of the online or campus based Mississippi vet tech programs, verify the accreditation status of your choice with the American Veterinarian Medical Association (AVMA). This is the only association authorized to offer accreditation.
- Once you have your degree the next step in becoming a VT is the licensing procedure. Mississippi will expect you to obtain a state license.
- Fill out an application for the two tests (one state and one national).

- Along with the state required exam there is a national exam required of you—the Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE)
