Cardiac sonographers utilize ultrasound waves to assess and help diagnose problems with the heart, its vessels, and its valves. The goal of the cardiac sonographer is to produce the best possible diagnostic images, via ultrasound, and relay that information to physicians. They have extensive patient contact and must therefore be able to interact compassionately and effectively with diverse populations and of varying degrees of health related issues.
