A strong math and physics background is recommended for those interested in cardiac sonographer training in Missouri. Most echocardiographer training programs last from 18 to 24 months and result in an associate (such as an associate of allied health) degree or a certificate. These programs can be found at colleges and university medical centers. The program you select should be accredited by a recognized body such as the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JRC-DMS).
