Enroll into that school, and complete their accredited courses. Make sure to do your best as the higher your grade point average in college the easier it will be to find a job later on. An ideal GPA should be above a 3.0 average.

After completing all your courses and graduating you should begin reviewing over all of your saved coursework, and take exam pretests to ensure you are prepared before taking the official exam for medical billing and coding certification in Missouri. There are some fees associated with taking the exam that you should be aware of $205.00 Exam and application fee for your (CCA). However if you are found to be ineligible or withdraw your application, you are entitled to a refund minus a $45.00 processing fee.

The Certified Coding Associate (CCA) is your basic accreditation level, for those just beginning their career in the Medical Billing and Coding field. It shows you have completed an AHIMA approved program from an accredited college, and six months of experience in the field. The AAPC equivalent would be a Certified Professional Coder or (CPC). The exam consists of a two hour, 100 multiple-choice item examination consisting of 90 scored items and ten pretest items. Should you fail your examination, do not worry as you can take the exam an unlimited number of times. You must wait 91 or more days from your last CCA exam before you can submit a new application. You will be evaluated to see if you are still eligible, and will be subject to the same exam fees you have already paid.
