Students of physician assistant programs in Missouri need to learn which accreditation agency is responsible for governing over this field of medicine. That accreditation organization is known as the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, or ARC-PA.

The ARC-PA works in collaboration with several other recognized affiliations in this career field. Some of those affiliations include the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the American College of Physicians and the Physician Assistant Education Association.

It is important for a Missouri student to recognize these organizations, as well as to comprehend their meaning. The ARC-PA is the organization that provides accreditation to valid and competent schools that offer physician assistants programs in Missouri. In addition, the ARC-PA is also recognized by the CHEA, or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. This affiliation defines exactly how reputable and highly sought after the ARC-PA accreditation truly is.

It is also worthy of note that a student who does not attend an ARC-PA accredited program will not be able to be licensed in Missouri, will not to be able to work as a physician assistant and will not be able to be certified. So, it is fair to say that accreditation is a large part of working in this career field.
