Nebraska’s Department of Health and Human Services has no licensing requirements for dental assistants. Therefore, if you aspire to become a dental assistant, your schooling requirements are between you and your future employer. While the possession of a high school diploma may demonstrate your commitment to hard work and your education, some employers may want to see a demonstration that you have taken coursework that includes biology and chemistry. But again, that is entirely up to the dentist who hires you. There are several dental assistant schools in Nebraska. As a state with no licensing requirements for its dental assistants, Nebraska also has no continuing education requirements for dental assistants.
Through campus based and online programs, aspiring Dental Assistants in Omaha, Lincoln, Bellevue and Grand Island, Nebraska may be able to prepare themselves for the possibility of employment in some of the largest hospitals and healthcare facilities in the state including the Bryan LGH Medical Center, Lincoln Surgical Hospital, Alegent Healthcare and Blue Cross of Nebraska.
