How to Become an MRI Technician in Nebraska

Are you interested in learning how to become an MRI technician in Nebraska?  Look no further.  Nebraska is one of the easiest states for entering the medical field as a magnetic resonance imaging technician, or MRI tech.  Unlike many states, Nebraska does not require licensing for someone interested in becoming an MRI technician.   Completing an Associate’s Degree program is the key step to making yourself eligible for employment.  Once you graduate with the Associate’s Degree, there are no additional licensing procedures, no examinations, and no renewal procedures to be aware of.  Simply find a job!

Every path has its beginning; MRI technician training is no different.  First, find a school that offers an Associate’s Degree in magnetic resonance imaging.  Nebraska has many schools to choose from, so be sure to do your research and make sure the school you choose fits your needs.    Training will take you approximately two years from start to finish and will cover a vast array of topics.  During your training courses, you will learn how to operate the MRI machine with ease, interact with patients, medical terminology, and proper billing procedures.  You can expect your coursework to include radiographic procedures, fluoroscopic equipment, processing theory, and human biology and pathology.  Upon completion of the Associates Degree program, you will be eligible to work in Nebraska as an MRI technician.
