In 2009, the average pharmacy technician salary in Nebraska was about $26,500, a general average of $12.74 an hour. However, there was a significant increase in earnings reported by those that had a few years of experience. In fact, experienced pharmacy techs reported earning an average of $33,850, which is about $16.27 per hour. So, you can see that there is a great amount of financial potential for those that choose this career field as their life-long profession.

One way that you could potentially increase both your career prospects and your annual income is by becoming a member of the Nebraska Pharmacists’ Association (NPA). At first glance, this organization appears to be dedicated to pharmacists only; however, they recognize the supportive contributions of pharmacy technicians and allow membership for them as well. By becoming a member of the NPA, you can enhance your professional portfolio and use this as a leveraging tool when discussing salary with potential employers.
