Both accredited education programs provide three years of classroom instruction, clinical coursework and clinical experience resulting in the Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. Students may participate in clinical and basic science research as well as advanced exploration in clinical practice, education, research and administration. To renew, a physical therapist must pay the renewal fee of $133 and attest to completion of 20 hours of acceptable continuing education taken during the preceding 24-month period. The licensee may also choose to place his/her license on inactive status by returning the completed renewal notice. Physical therapists must also successfully complete the Nebraska Law Tutorial, a free online review of the Physical Therapy Practice Act and the Physical Therapy Regulations, before November 1, 2011. Each licensee is required to maintain a copy of his/her Nebraska Law Tutorial Examination.
