Find the right school for you
All aspiring neonatal nurse practitioners in Indiana need to complete both a bachelor’s degree program and a master’s or doctorate degree in nursing. After you have gained your registered nursing status, the next step is to select a degree program that matches your career ambitions.
In Indiana, the Indian Professional Licensing Agency mandates that all neonatal nurse practitioners be licensed and certified, for which there is a one-time state licensing fee of $50. However, in order to be considered eligible for licensure in Indiana, practitioners will need to complete and pass the NCLEX examination; a specialized test used to determine the competency and preparedness of nursing professionals. The current fee for the NCLEX test is $200.
Once you have received your education, certification, and state licensing, you will find that prospective neonatal nurse practitioners are qualified to accept opportunities with some of the largest healthcare facilities within the state, including Deaconess Hospital, Community Hospital East, and Parkview Hospital.
