Become a Personal Trainer in Nevada - NV

Becoming a Personal Trainer in Nevada

  1. Attend a Nevada personal trainer certification program.   In Nevada, programs are available at community college, specialized schools, and through online massage schools.
  2. Complete Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification classes. Contact your local Red Cross and American Heart Association offices for class information.
  3. Pass the certification exam.

Note: most certification programs require completion of Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for recertification.

One suggestion after you become certified is to find a job as a Personal Trainer at a local gym, fitness center, or health club in Nevada. That way you can immediately apply your skills to help the gym’s clients. If you want to become self-employed, it is a great way to network your name by the “word of mouth” of satisfied gym clients. There are many different opportunities available to anyone who becomes a certified Personal Trainer. These include:

  • Working on a cruise ship. The clientele does change with each cruise, but it is one way to impact the physical fitness of many people.
  • Working for a corporation. Many companies recognize the importance of good health for its employees.
  • Working with you as boss. It is very rewarding to work with a clientele list on a regular basis that you have built yourself.
  • Working with clients in their home. Another possibility for meeting the physical needs of a client on their schedule.
  • Working in a local gym, fitness center, or health club. This is a good way to get started. The gaming industry in Nevada includes major hotels and casinos. Check out their in house facilities for job possibilities.

As you can see, being a Physical Trainer can be rewarding and does not require the traditional nine to five schedule.

The following organizations have certification programs that are accredited by the National Commission of Certifying Agencies (NCCA).
