Nevada radiology technician schools are dedicated to providing students with the education and knowledge needed to work as radiology technicians. There are many degrees to choose from, including certificate programs and associate programs. However, the most commonly pursued degree for this profession in Nevada is the Associate of Science in Radiologic Technology. This degree option is a 2-year degree, typically consisting of 25 general education credits and 70 radiologic technology credits.

The general education requirements of a radiology tech school in Nevada will include some of the following courses:

  • English Composition 1 and 2
  • Introduction to Computers
  • American Literature
  • General Biology
  • Sociology

Because radiology technicians in Nevada play a contributory role in diagnosing conditions that can be seen on x-ray imaging, most of your course studies will be directed towards radiologic technology and human anatomy. Not only will these courses be the bulk of your degree, but they will also be the most important because they will teach you about the technical, scientific, and biological aspects of radiologic technology.

Through campus or online programs, aspiring Radiology Technicians in Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas and Reno, Nevada may be able to prepare themselves for the possibility of employment in some of the largest hospitals and healthcare facilities in the state including the Spring Valley Hospital, Sunrise Hospital, Desert Springs Hospital and Northern Nevada Medical Center.
