Salaries for cardiac sonographers may vary based on one’s level of experience and also based on what credentials the individual cardiac sonographer possesses. Having initials after your name, such as RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, a distinction conveyed by the ARDMS), may help you to obtain a higher salary than a similarly qualified, non-credentialed professional. The average echocardiographer salary in the United States is $49,730. The median cardiac sonographer salary in New Hampshire is close to that figure, at $54,300. This, as mentioned before, can be affected by a variety of factors, including educational level, experience level, the possession of credentials, the setting in which you work and the area in which you work.

Cities, towns and rural areas across New Hampshire are in need of cardiac sonographers. Some of these cities, towns and rural areas pay echocardiographers better than others. Taking a look at some of the more populous metropolitan areas in New Hampshire, it becomes apparent that cardiac sonographer salaries (as well as salaries among most medical and allied health professionals) do fluctuate from one area to another:

Manchester:  $52,000
Nashua:  $61,000
East Concord:  $49,000
Concord:  $49,000
Derry Village:  $53,000
