New Hampshire Ultrasound Technician School - NH

New Hampshire Ultrasound Tech Schools

New Hampshire is a state filled with educated and independently thinking professionals and scholars. This is fertile ground for advances in technology and highly qualified technicians of all kind.  This is why New Hampshire is home to many biotech, telecommunications, robotics and manufacturing firms.  Professional and student ultrasound technologists in this state are sure to find plenty of resources for training and career advancement.

Ultrasound Technologist (UT) certification was previously only possible after obtaining primary certification as a Radiologic Technologist.  However, with an increased number of ultrasound tech training programs popping up around the country, students and professionals have more than just on-the-job opportunities to learn this specialty.  This has opened up certification and credentialing opportunities throughout New Hampshire and the nation for those seeking a career as an Ultrasound Technologist, or sonographer, as they are commonly known.

New Hampshire hosts quite a few technical, vocational, and collegiate educational programs that offer a solid foundation for would-be sonographers.  Programs offered by New Hampshire ultrasound technician schools generally cover three main components: general, vascular, and echocardiography.  Sonographers can expect to perform imaging in all of these areas while in school and on the job.

Most sonography programs last two years and require at least an Associate’s degree in Allied Health Sciences or Bachelor’s degree in science prior to application.  Official transcripts must be submitted with your application and fee for consideration.  Depending on the program, New Hampshire applicants must have current CPR certification and may be required to attend a personal interview with the program director.

Through campus or online programs, aspiring Ultrasound Technicians in Manchester, Nashua, East Concord, Concord and Derry Village, New Hampshire may be able to prepare themselves for the possibility of employment in some of the largest hospitals and healthcare facilities in the state including the Concord Hospital, Wentworth Douglas Hospital, Catholic Medical Center and Cheshire Medical Center.
