The state of New Jersey ranks second only to California in states paying Occupational Therapists the highest salaries, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.  According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average national salary for an Occupational Therapist in 2008 was $68,000. Taking the top three cities in New Jersey, the average salary for an Occupational Therapist in that state is $98,600, about 60% higher than the national average.
