Remember that all long term care students, regardless of certification type, are required to pass the independent NCLEX examination. The degree requirements in New Mexico for these professions are:

Registered nurse (RN) – 4 years of collegiate study in nursing, bachelor degree
Licensed practical nurse (LPN) – 2 years of college study in nursing, associate degree
Clinical nurse specialist (CNS) – 5 to 6 years of collegiate study in nursing, master degree, registered nurse status, supplemental education
