Find the right school for you
The field of nursing differs slightly from that of most other careers. In lieu of a standard college degree, a nursing career in this state demands that you attend one of accredited North Dakota LPN schools. While some community colleges do offer the nursing program to their students, many students find that they are limited to attending a specific nursing school because of state regulations.
Each nursing program typically takes about one year to complete. You will receive a certificate from your school after you have graduated from the program. That certificate is proof of your education and will be required before you can take the NCLEX-PN test or be issued a license in North Dakota.
Attending school online is not off limits in this state. The only prerequisite is that the school must be in North Dakota and the Board must approve it. If the school is out-of-state, you may appeal to the Board to accept your school of choice; however, this often proves to be a long, drawn-out process.
Through campus based and online programs, aspiring LPNs in Fargo, Bismarck, Grand Forks and Minot, North Dakota may be able to prepare themselves for the possibility of employment in some of the largest hospitals and healthcare facilities in the state including the St. Alexius Medical Center, Jamestown Hospital, Dakota Clinic and Medcenter One Jamestown.
LPN Wages in North Dakota
