Find the right school for you
Those looking for nursing schools in Missouri will be glad to know that there are many options. A person can work toward Missouri licensing by taking an approved program at the certificate, associate’s, or bachelor’s level.
There are options in Missouri for people who have the aptitude for nursing school, but lack the resources. Legislation HB 1429 is intended to serve both the workforce and those who live in areas where there is little access to healthcare. Although there is no assurance that funds will be available, legislation may provide financial aid to prospective nurses for whom education costs are a hardship. Once they attain licensure, students are expected to serve in high needs areas.
For a nurse, schooling does not necessarily end with the attainment of a certificate or degree. Missouri does not require continuing education, but some specialty areas may require additional training and certification. Licensed practical nurses can earn certification in IVs to increase career duties or pursue a bachelor’s to transition into advanced professional nursing careers.
