After you are certified, the final step is to contact the Ohio State Licensing Board to pursue their conditions. The Ohio Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Athletic Trainers Board will issue your license as an Occupational Therapist.

In order to obtain your license in Ohio you must meet the following requisites:

  1. Be a person of integrity and morality. Have a clear criminal background check. You will be required to submit a full set of fingerprints as part of the background process.
  2. You have met all of your educational requirements.
  3. You will have to complete 6 months of hands-on work that is supervised and approved by the licensing board.
  4. A passing score is required on the exam.
