Physician Assistants (PAs) are licensed healthcare professionals who work under the direct supervision of a physician, taking on many duties that previously were handled only by doctors themselves. At one time there were PA programs through accredited Physician Assistant schools in Ohio offered certificates and associate degrees, as well as PA programs with a bachelor’s degree. However since 2008, the state of Ohio requires practicing Physician Assistants to have a master’s degree.
