Enroll in one of the Ohio ultrasound technician schools that are approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Allied Health Education Programs (http://www.caahep.org/). You can find such programs in most any technical/community college, university, hospital or online school offering allied health programs. You'll need to get an associate's degree or can opt for an advanced degree. The associate's degree can be finished in about 2 years.

The curriculum will consist of basic college courses along with medical courses such as anatomy/physiology, terminology, and basic patient care skills. The ultrasound courses will be specific to each ultrasound type. You will also be required to put in some time in an internship or clinical practicum to gain some hands on experience for both your future career and as required by the certification board.

Through campus or online programs, aspiring Ultrasound Technicians in Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Toledo, Akron and Dayton, Ohio may be able to prepare themselves for the possibility of employment in some of the largest hospitals and healthcare facilities in the state including the Akron City Hospital, The Cleveland Clinic and the many University Hospitals and Mercy Hospitals.

We currently have no schools offerings in OH for this career path at this time. (Check back with us)
