Find the right school for you
In Oklahoma, you must graduate from an approved nursing program before you can be considered eligible for state licensure. Most nursing programs offered through Oklahoma’s LPN schools take roughly one year of time to complete. During this time, you will be taught about the anatomy of the human body, drug interactions, effectively diagnosing a patient, and the importance of humanity and concern in the nursing profession.
The Oklahoma Board of Nursing does mandate that any nursing school you attend must be in your resident state, which would be Oklahoma. They do this because they want to ensure that there is some level of state specific information is taught to all nursing students in Oklahoma.
Many nursing schools are moving towards offering their programs online, and nursing is no exception to this activity. You will find that many of the Board approved institutions are now available online. This can save you a wealth of valuable time by being able to study and learn directly from home.
Through campus based and online programs, aspiring LPNs in Oklahoma City, Tulsa and Norman, Oklahoma may be able to prepare themselves for the possibility of employment in some of the largest hospitals and healthcare facilities in the state including the Saint Francis Hospital, Oklahoma State University Medical Center, Saint Anthony Hospital and the many INTEGRIS Health Centers.
