Radiology Tech School in Oklahoma - OK

Although 40 U.S. states require licensing for radiologic technologists, Oklahoma is not one of them (http://www.okmedicalboard.org/). The state does recommend registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT; www.arrt.org) in order to practice. Nearly every Oklahoma employer requires an AART certification. ARRT provides certifications for continuing education.

Most employers require Radiologic Technologist earn a diploma from one of the accredited Oklahoma radiology technician schools. There are a variety of online universities that offer radiology technician programs as well. These provide a convenient and flexible schedule. an accredited school and Passing the AART certification is voluntary but encouraged in Oklahoma. This state only requires licensing/certification for a Radiologist Assistant, who must pass an ARRT exam and complete 50 hours of continuing education classes within a two-year period.

Through campus or online programs, aspiring Radiology Technicians in Oklahoma City, Tulsa and Norman, Oklahoma may be able to prepare themselves for the possibility of employment in some of the largest hospitals and healthcare facilities in the state including the Saint Francis Hospital, Oklahoma State University Medical Center, Saint Anthony Hospital and the many INTEGRIS Health Centers.
