Pediatric Nursing Colleges in Minnesota - MN

Enrollment in pediatric nursing colleges in Minnesota enables individuals to become either pediatric nurses or pediatric nurse practitioners, depending on the credential they earn.  Those who complete undergraduate degrees for the bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) degree take classes that provide teaching in subjects like anatomy, biology and chemistry as well as in course such as ethics and statistics.  They may also opt to take in child development classes to deepen their understanding of children so they are better equipped to work on their behalf.  Once they are licensed by the Minnesota Board of Nursing, which requires passing a registered nurse licensure examination, graduates of BSN programs who specialize in pediatrics may also be certified by an organization such as the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB).

Individuals with BSN degrees who wish to complete graduate studies can enhance their skills in pediatric nurse practitioner programs.  These studies include instruction in topics relevant to this area of expertise as well as to health care management and research.  Once they complete these programs and are licensed in Minnesota, graduates may seek certification through PNCB and be recognized by the state as Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs).
