In Pennsylvania, you can expect to be going to school for around two years while you are working on obtaining your associate’s degree. The associate’s degree is the minimal allowable type of degree that the Board will accept. Some of the course time will be send on learning general education, such as math, English and history; while the other the other portion of the time will be focused on your major of study.

If you are interested in expanding your career into a specialty field as a physical therapist assistant, you may want to consider working towards a bachelor’s degree right off the bat. A bachelor’s degree will usually take about four years to complete and in that time you will learn in much greater detail about your profession. You will also be able to emphasize a specialty field. This is perhaps the greatest benefit of obtaining a bachelor’s degree.

When you are making the decision about which to school to commit to, be sure to remember the importance of accreditation. You should aim to learn as much as you can about the program that each school has to offer and be assured that it matches the needs of your individual career goals. Because it is most certain that you will be spending a lot of time on any degree you choose, you should always be sure that the program is a good fit for you.

There are several Pennsylvania physical therapy assistant schools available.
