Pennsylvania was originally a territory that was disputed for ownership between the Dutch and the English, in the end; however, Pennsylvania broke from both. In 1787, it became the second state to ratify the Constitution. Pennsylvania has large sections of shoreline along portions of the Great Lakes. It also has nine percent of the wooded areas in the US, according to Wikipedia.com. The population in Pennsylvania has seen a steady growth since its inception. Public Health careers will afford you a wide range of possibilities in this state.
Public Health and Education Needs
More online and campus based Pennsylvania public health schools are offering educational options that allow graduates to more quickly pursue related careers. However, you must obtain a minimum of a Masters in order to be qualified for the certification program.
Some of the coursework you can expect will be concentrated on the skills you will need in this broad career. This includes aspects of being able to organize, assign and track patients who come to your organization for health services. Some of the courses will be similar to:

Continuing Education Requirements
As a Certified in Public Health (CPH) in Pennsylvania, you will be obligated to complete fifty hours of continued education every other year. Any course that you take to meet this requirement must be approved by the National Board of Public Health Examiners (NBPHE).
Along with this bi-annual requirement, you will also need to have an assessment of your skills every ten years. This process is designed to determine your proficiency in your job.

Salary Expectations for the CPH in Pennsylvania
People who have achieved their degree in Public Health may expect a salary range of $55,000 to $75,000 per year. Certifications and a PHD will usually result in higher pay.
