As of May 2008, there were over 4,300 individuals holding a psychology degree in Michigan. Most of these professionals worked as clinical, counseling, or school psychologists. Continuing Education and Renewal of Licensure for Psychologists in Michigan
In Michigan, there are no requirements for continued education. However, optional continuing education courses and opportunities are provided at the American Psychological Association website. The renewal fee for the full psychology license is $190, and must be submitted on August 31st every two years. The renewal can be done online, and there is a 60-day grace period, after which, late fees will be assessed.
Throughout their education and practice, individuals holding a psychology degree in Michigan must continue to display a great deal of observation and analytical thought. Composure is also required to adequately serve patients with a variety of mental and emotional illnesses.
