Minnesota Psychological Association

The MPA strives to enhance the psychological interests of the communities and professionals by advocating the science of behavior and the safe application and practice of psychological techniques. The MSPA works to proactively advocate the profession of school psychologists by stressing the importance of the mental well-being of today’s youth. This organization supports the mental needs of children, families of children, and the communities surrounding schools. Continuing Education

It is important to note for those considering a psychology degree in Minnesota that license renewal requires at least 40 hours of continuing education. The Board has set this as a requirement in order to assure the public and profession that only qualified individuals are practicing psychology. This also helps to develop and keep current on the new ideals of the career. One continuing education unit is comprised of 60 minutes of an education course, teaching a course, presenting a seminar or workshop, attending a seminar or workshop in Minnesota, publicizing a psychological work, or serving on an oral examination panel. Each individual must verify his or her hours by submitting a form.
