It is crucial that all individuals who hold a Psychology degree in Nebraska remain current on updates regarding research and procedural developments in this field.  To ensure that Psychologists in Nebraska are aware of the changes, The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services Licensing and Regulatory Affairs division requires that Psychologists acquire 24 Continuing Education units every two years in order to renew their licenses.  These Continuing Education units can be earned by taking college courses, attending seminars offered through the state, the American Psychological Association or by participating in a conference.  Individuals must be able to show proof of completion for the Continuing Education units.

How to Renew a License in Psychology in Nebraska State

On January 1st of every odd numbered year, your Psychology license will expire.  A renewal notification form will be sent to you approximately 90 days before the expiration date to remind you.  When you receive the renewal notification, simply fill out the renewal form.  The form will ask you to document your 24 hours of Continued Education credits and ask you about any misdemeanors or felonies you may have pending.  After completing the renewal form, be sure to include the $52 renewal fee and return it to The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services Licensing and Regulatory Affairs division on or before January 1st to avoid a late fee of $25.  If the renewal form is not received before February 1st, the license will be revoked.
