To become a licensed psychologist in Florida, applicants must have obtained a doctorate, specialist, or equivalent degree from an accredited online university or one of the psychology schools in Florida that has been approved by the U.S. Department Education or the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada. The applicant must have also enrolled with and graduated from an accredited online university or psychology schools in Florida that has been approved and recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
The applicant must have completed 90 quarter hours or 60 semester hours of graduate study online or at one of the accredited psychology schools in Florida. He or she must also have three or more years of experience in school psychology. Two of those years must have been overseen by a licensed school psychologist or someone who is eligible to be a school psychologist supervisor per the rules of the school’s department. An application of a doctoral internship may satisfactorily fulfill the supervisory requirement.
