Hawaii Psychology Schools – HI

Licensed Psychologists must have an advanced degree earned online or through one of the psychology schools in Hawaii in at least one of the following categories:
- Doctoral degree in Psychology from a regionally accredited institution
- Doctoral degree in Educational Psychology from an accredited institution earned either online or through one of the psychology schools in Hawaii
- Doctoral degree from an APA-approved Clinical program earned online or through one of the psychology schools in Hawaii
Applicants must have completed minimum study in the following areas and must submit a “Training Report” form. Exception: this requirement is waived for applicants with degrees in the third category.
At least six graduate semester hours (nine quarter hours)
- Biological bases behavior: sensation and perception, comparative psychology, neuropsychology, physiological psychology, psychopharmacology
- Cognitive-affective bases of behavior: thinking, learning, emotion, motivation
- Social Bases of behavior: group processes, organizational and systems theory, community psychology, social psychology
- Individual differences: human development, personality theory, abnormal psychology
- Psycho-diagnosis and individual assessment: personality, intellectual and behavioral assessment
- Therapy: adult or child intervention, or both
At least three graduate semester hours (4½ quarter hours)
- Professional, scientific ethics and standards
- History and systems
- Research design, methodology
- Statistics, psychometrics
