Fulfilling the educational requirements through psychology schools in Montana can be very time consuming. An individual considering a career as a Psychologist will need a doctoral degree, PhD as a bare minimum. Begin by selecting an online university or one of the psychology schools in Montana that offers a Psychology doctoral degree program that is recognized by The Montana Board of Psychologists and accredited through the American Psychological Association, or APA.

The program should provide coursework and extensive training in several types of Psychology, such as clinical psychology, behavioral psychology, and developmental psychology. Once you have chosen from one of the psychology schools in Montana, complete the necessary coursework to complete the doctoral degree.

After the degree had been accomplished, find a supervisor. A supervisor would be an experienced practicing psychologist who is in a position to oversee your work in practice. You will need to complete 2 years of supervised experience. At least one of the years must come after the doctoral degree has been completed. Education and experience are important to The Montana Board of Psychologists.

Through campus based and online programs, aspiring Psychologists in Billings, Missoula, Great Falls, Butte, Bozeman and Helena, Montana may be able to prepare themselves for the possibility of employment in some of the largest hospitals and healthcare facilities in the state including the Bozeman Deaconess Hospital, Kalispell Regional Medical Center, Northern Montana Hospital and St. Patrick Hospital and Health Sciences Center.
