The Texas Psychological Association (TPA) has a primary goal of stimulating knowledge and interest of psychology to the general public through its foundation entity, the Texas Psychological Foundation. The foundation’s goals include:
- Encourage development and design of new programs and techniques for offering sound psychological services in industries, schools, institutions, and the overall community.
- Advocate and sponsor applied and basic psychological research programs.
- Acknowledge excellence and accomplishments in graduate training by offering fellowships, scholarships, and awards.
- Create programs and materials for the improvement of professional education in the psychological field.
- Promote and encourage publication and sponsorship in the psychological field.
Through campus based and online programs, aspiring Psychologists in Houston, Dallas, Austin, Fort Worth, El Paso, Arlington, Corpus Christi, Plano, Laredo, Lubbock and Amarillo, Texas may be able to prepare themselves for the possibility of employment in some of the largest hospitals and healthcare facilities in the state including the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, Memorial Hermann Hospital, CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital and Baylor Medical Centers.
