Rhode Island Dental Assistants Schools


The Rhode Island Dental Association reports that dental assistants can be trained while working in the field. There is one dental assistant school in Rhode Island. This community college offers a certificate in dental assisting. Courses include Oral Biology I and II, Preventive Dentistry, Chairside Dental Assisting I and II, Oral Radiography, Dental Materials Lecture and Lab, among others.

Dental assistants are also required to receive the one-hour per year of OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen Standards training. Since they are not required to have a license they do not have to perform other continued education or renew any licenses in Rhode Island.

Through campus based and online programs, aspiring Dental Assistants in Providence, Warwick, Cranston and Pawtucket, Rhode Island can prepare themselves for careers at some of the best hospitals and healthcare facilities in the country including the Rhode Island Hospital, Kent Hospital, Our Lady of Fatima Hospital and The Miriam Hospital.
