Radiology Tech School in Rhode Island - RI

There are a number of Rhode Island radiology technician schools. These programs are hosted at major hospitals, universities, and even online. Candidates can find a program that suits their needs, from a two year Diploma or Associate’s degree to four-year Baccalaureate degree.
Prior to enrolling in an accredited RT program, applicants may be required have completed certain college level math, reading, and writing classes. And for some programs, applicants may have to take and ss the Health Occution Basic Entrance Test (HOBET). This is a timed, three-hour test that covers basic math, reading, and personality traits. Applicants will most likely need to have a current CPR certification and a physical exam prior to entering a program to show that you can physically perform RT job functions.
Students will complete the first rt of the program taking classes in radiography, radiation safety, image procurement and evaluation, diagnostics, and quality assurance. The second rt of the program often includes performing clinical rotations in nearby medical facilities for hands-on experience.
Through campus or online programs, aspiring Radiology Technicians in Providence, Warwick, Cranston and Pawtucket, Rhode Island may be able to prepare themselves for the possibility of employment in some of the largest hospitals and healthcare facilities in the state including the Rhode Island Hospital, Kent Hospital, Our Lady of Fatima Hospital and The Miriam Hospital.
