CNA Training Programs in South Carolina

Nurse assistants are becoming more and more important on medical teams as they provide the front line in patient care and spend many hours making sure patients are comfortable and cared for while they are undergoing procedures and recovering from illnesses. South Carolina has a very structured and comprehensive process for becoming a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA).

There are over 150 state-approved CNA training programs for certified nurse aides across South Carolina, ranging from vocational training programs in high schools, to training programs at hospitals and small medical facilities, to online programs offered through distance learning schools. Some of these training programs are offered through nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, and retirement communities. There are private nursing companies that provide CNA training, and there are several community colleges and technical schools that offer certificate programs in nursing assistance and nurse aide training.

External degree programs are available for nurse aide training, as well. Most online training programs offer the required coursework, and make it easy to access the experiential learning that students need to pass the skills evaluation.

Continuing education is provided by most of the existing nurse aide training programs. Nurse aides can access additional training at any of the programs listed above.

Through online programs, aspiring C.N.A.s in Columbia, Charleston, North Charleston and Greenville, South Carolina may be able to prepare themselves for the possibility of employment in some of the largest hospitals and healthcare facilities in the state including the Roper Hospital, Palmetto Health, Providence Hospital and Medical University of South Carolina.
