South Carolina Dental Assistant Continuing Education Requirements
Dental assistants do not have to pursue any sort of additional training or education. However, after completing two years of continuous full-time employment as a dental assistant, they can earn the status of an Expanded Duty Dental Assistant through the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB). Once this status is earned it must be renewed annually. The DANB also requires proof of current CPR certification in order for certification to be renewed.Through campus based and online programs, aspiring Dental Assistants in Columbia, Charleston, North Charleston and Greenville, South Carolina may be able to prepare themselves for the possibility of employment in some of the largest hospitals and healthcare facilities in the state including the Roper Hospital, Palmetto Health, Providence Hospital and Medical University of South Carolina.
