LPN programs are most often offered through technical schools, four-year colleges, universities, hospitals, and online schools
South Dakota’s LPN schools offer programs that can be completed within one year for full-time students. Educational nursing programs will include intensive classroom study in basic nursing concepts and patient care. Classroom instruction may include courses such as anatomy, biology, chemistry, physiology, medical-surgical nursing, pharmacology, nutrition, and first aid. Hands-on experience is also an essential part of LPN training. This takes place throughout the LPN program in local hospitals and clinics. CPR certification is also essential for LPNs.
