The best way to start a sports medicine career in Florida is by earning a field-related certificate, diploma, or degree. Education and training programs are primarily offered through colleges, universities, and online schools. Students that are interested in enrolling in a campus-based program can find them available in cities such as Miami, Gainesville, Boca Raton, Tallahassee, Coral Gables, Fort Myers, and Tampa.

Most programs instruct students through didactic study and applied clinical training. Although curriculum may differ between programs, study can generally be expect to include aspects of sports medicine like the physiology of exercise, professional roles and responsibilities, injury prevention, sports psychology, human anatomy, first aid (CPR), nutrition, therapeutic modalities, patient assessment, and physical rehabilitation.
