Substance abuse counselor training in Kentucky starts with an educational plan. The majority of the coursework will be specific to the day-to-day tasks of the substance abuse counselor.  The program prepares you with the needed skills to counsel substance abuse clients and their families. You will gain an understanding of how substance abuse influences a person’s choices, and how this affects their life, and the lives of others.
