Tennessee Dental Assistant Continuing Education Requirements

Dental assistants in Tennessee are issued a two-year license. During each two-year cycle, a dental assistant must fulfill 24 hours of continuing education in subject matter pertaining to dental assistant duties or additional certifications, such as coronal polishing. At least two hours of a dental assistant’s continuing education must be in the area of chemical dependency education. In addition to continuing education hours, a dental assistant must maintain a current CPR card at all times.
