How to Become a Dental Hygienist in Tennessee - TN

The following are steps to how to become a Dental Hygienist in Tennessee.
- Be 18 years of age and have completed a high school education or GED exam. Courses in math, health, and science will prove extremely beneficial and may be prerequisites for dental hygiene school.
- Apply to an accredited dental hygiene school. There are currently seven in the state of Tennessee.
- Complete a course to become certified in CPR.
- Graduate from approved dental hygiene program. After or just before graduation you will be eligible to sit for the American Dental Association National Board Dental Hygiene Examination.
- Apply for a dental hygiene license with the Tennessee Department of Health.
- Search for a job as a dental hygienist.
