How to Become an EKG Tech in Texas - TX

EKG (Electrocardiograph) Technicians work in hospitals, doctor's offices, outpatient centers, and clinics. They perform health diagnostic tests and treatments to help doctors assess possible cardiovascular and pulmonary problems in patients. In an EKG, electrical impulses are transmitted by the heart and measured to assess cardiovascular function. Although this area employs just 50 EKG technicians, they make an annual mean wage of $70,690 (2008). This represents a 68% increase over the mean annual national salary for EKG technicians.
