Long Term Care Training in Texas

There are about fifteen different long term care education programs available throughout Texas. Some programs comprise of the state mandated fifteen hour or two hundred clock- hour course option (non-degree). However, some state colleges and universities offer different degrees, including: Bachelor in Business Administration, Advanced Skills Certificate in Long Term Health Care Administration, Bachelor in Long Term Care Administration, Bachelor of Science in Health Profession in Long Term Care Administration, and Master in Health Care Administration. These programs can be located in Abilene, Corpus Christi, Brownwood, Midland, Waco, Denton, Pasadena, San Marcos, Hurst, Houston, and Dallas.

Although the coursework in programs specific to long term care training in Texas will vary to some degree within each education program, students can expect many of the same long term cares topic to be covered during academic instruction. Some examples of classes found in Texas LTC administration programs may include: Introduction to Long Term Care Administration, Organization and Management of Long Term Care Facilities, Long Term Care Law, Financial Aspects of Long Term Care Facilities, Resident Care, Health Professions Human Resource Management, Theory and Practice of Supervision, Health Care Delivery Systems, Interpersonal Relationships, and Health Care Ethics.
