There are a number of Texas phlebotomy schools where you can earn a formal training and certification in this field. These programs focus not only on how to draw the blood most efficiently (and as painless as possible) but also how to prepare the blood for analysis. In addition to earning a formal education in phlebotomy, you will be expected to join the certifying association for continuing education. (See details below under Associations). In Texas, Certified Phlebotomists are required to renew their certification annually. At least 1.8 units or 18 hours of continuing education is mandatory for annual certification renewal.

Through campus based and online programs, aspiring Phlebotomists in Houston, Dallas, Austin, Fort Worth, El Paso, Arlington, Corpus Christi, Plano, Laredo, Lubbock and Amarillo, Texas may be able to prepare themselves for the possibility of employment in some of the largest hospitals and healthcare facilities in the state including the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, Memorial Hermann Hospital, CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital and Baylor Medical Centers.

We currently have no schools offerings in TX for this career path at this time. (Check back with us)
