By law, all Surgical Technologists in Texas are required to maintain certification throughout their careers.  Surgical Technologist certificates must be renewed every 5 years by either passing the certification examination, or by accruing 80 continuing education credits through classes available through Texas surgical technologist schools.  In Texas, these credits can either be gained by taking classes online or through vocational schools, as well as by attending seminars or conferences, or by taking home-study courses.
